Earthquake Struck Haiti - Ministry Focuses on Relief

Wednesday, January 13, 2010

As many of you have heard a 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti on Tuesday evening. We have received word that our orphanage, clinics, schools and churches are all intact. We are so grateful that the people of Pignon have been spared from harm.

Right now our field director, Peter Constantin, is working with his friend Caleb Lucien in relief work. Peter was in Port Au Prince picking up a mission team when the earthquake hit. The team decided to change their plans and meet the needs at hand. They set up a small clinic and have been working around the clock to help victims.

Peter and Caleb have been driving victims from Port Au Prince back to the town of Pignon where our ministry is based. There they can find more medical help and supplies.

We urge you to pray for Peter and Caleb as well as one of our young pastors, Gerby Seriphin, who is serving as a translator for the team in Port Au Prince. We also ask that you continue to pray for all the survivors who have been separated from their families and are now moving out to different parts of the country in search of help.

Please consider donating to Christian Friendship Ministries and the relief work our organization is doing now in response to the earthquake.
