Christian Friendship Ministries is currently putting together a food distribution program in the city of Pignon, which is located in the northern mountains of Haiti. This small city of 30,000 has more than doubled since the earthquake that struck Haiti on Jan. 12, 2010. The survivors who have relocated to the Pignon area are desperately in need of food, water, shelter and medical attention.

"There are so many people from Port Au Prince that want to come to Pignon," Peter explains. "We are working to support people. Every pastor is working together now."

Peter says the greatest need is food. Hundreds line the street in the town of Pignon. Peter's vision is to begin an organized program from the church in Pignon to feed the neighborhood. He needs resources.

"It's a tough time," says Peter by phone. "It's the worst time of my life."

Our U.S. board and staff are currently working to fundraise for this project. Churches in California and Virginia have already raised $30,000 to help start the food distribution. An additional $1,600 was recently raised at a Haiti Relief Benefit concert in Fresno.

Many organizations and individuals have given their donations or hosted unique fundraisers for Haiti Relief.
